Various organisations support the land based cleanups and the Enviromark willingly provides bags for the collection of waste. If you would like assistance, email your requirements to Douw Steyn who will gladly assist.

Veolia Paarl Clean

During Cleanup Week last year the VWS Envig Paarl Office and Membratek Production staff tackled the clean-up of the Mbekweni River for the Clean-Up SA campaign.

In total a weight of 3440kg was collected. With the removal of the waste from the river these volunteers have made a contribution to the improvement of the water quality reaching the Bergriver. Hopefully this improvement effort will expand to other sections of the river too and serve as inspiration to others to continue the good work by keeping the river free of litter and other contaminants.

Nampak Liquid gives Clover a clean hand

In celebration of World Environmental Day in June last year, Clover launched a first-of-its-kind internal initiative aimed at cleaning up local communities as part of a commitment to people and the planet.

As a proud packaging supplier to Clover, Nampak Liquid shares Clover’s “Green Ambassadors” values and recently collaborated with staff from Clover-Mayfair in a local cleanup day as part of Clover’s broader ongoing campaign. Clover-Mayfair is a juice-processing site at which Nampak Liquid runs an in-plant, manufacturing bottles on the customer’s premises for instant packaging.

200 Nampak Liquid and Clover employees formed six groups dubbed “Green Teams” and cleaned up the litter in Mayfair’s Blue Dam area. Armed with gloves and plastic bags, the teams headed off to “attack” the litter in their assigned areas – collecting a substantial 376 bags full of rubbish and making a noticeable difference to the area. Leaving nothing behind, all 376 litterbags were also gathered by Clover trucks and taken away.

The day was a huge success and has certainly paved the way for more businesses to work together in maintaining the environment in which they operate.

According to Willem Pienaar, Nampak Liquid’s Managing Director, Nampak Liquid is proud to provide support to one of its leading customers, to be part of a good cause, and ultimately to give back to the environment and the community.
